In the case of a net rent, outgoings are paid by the tenant, these are usually council rates, water and sewer rates and any strata fees. Your agent will advise you of the estimated outgoings per year and they will be on charged to you as the bills come in. If the advertisement has a gross rent, it means outgoings are factors into the rent already. Your operating costs are still your responsibility e.g. power, water usage, internet, cleaning, air con maintenance etc.
